QR Mark tool requires you to set up a custom domain before adding verification QR Codes to your document via file upload or Google add-ons. This requirement is made mandatory to increase the trustworthiness by displaying the details of files on the verification landing page and to eliminate the chances of creating counterfeit files.
Follow the steps below to set up your Custom Domain:
Step A
- Go to Your Domain Hosting Service Provider (DNS): Whether you use Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Digital Ocean, AWS, Plesk, or another provider, log in to your account and create the domain of your choice. This domain will be encoded into the verification QR Code that you add to your documents, and users will land on this URL when they scan the QR Code
- Create the Domain: This will be the root domain you want to use for your QR Code verification
Step B
- Log in to Your QR Mark Account
-
Navigate to the Settings > Custom Domain tab
-
Find Setup Custom Domain Step 1
-
Add your subdomain. For example, if your domain is 'my website' then the subdomain can be 'document.mywebsite.com'
- Click on Add
You'll now move to step 2, here you will need to perform the below actions:
- Go to DNS settings on your service provider's website
- Add CNAME Record
- In the Name field, enter just the sub-domain part of your full domain i.e. document.mywebsite.com
- Point your sub-domain to qrmark.org (Enter this value in the Target or Value field.)
- Add a new TXT record
- Enter @ in the hostname field (to indicate root domain)
- Copy the below string and enter it in the TXT value field
- Once the above steps are completed click on Complete
Note: Sometimes it will take up to 24 hours before QR Mark recognize the changes on your subdomain.
